The receptors of the heart…

Our hearts are precious. They hold our love, our hurts, our joys, our successes, our peace, our disappointments, and so on, and so on… But our hearts are never to blame or reward for these occurrences. In fact, think of this…What if we did not have the function of some receptors, eyes, ears, touch, and smell? We could either avoid or lack some issues of life. Our hearts are sponges and are willing recipients.

I don’t want to lose you in this conversation; so, stick with me.

A very wise man suggests “above all, protect your heart. For out of your heart flows the issues of life.” There are some things we should open our hearts to. Then, there are some things we should not let anywhere close to our hearts. In order to understand this, we should always think with the end goal in mind. What do you want to experience from THIS relationship? If I take this class, what do I want to accomplish? If I buy this, what will happen? _______________________ (Insert the question here you’ve pondered.)

I’ve been guilty of allowing bad interactions close to my most important organ, my heart. Our hearts are physical, spiritual and mental. They encompass all three parts. Think about the implications of when we do not take care of our bodies. We could harm our most vital organ by eating foods that our contrary to our longevity, not working out, indulging a lil bit too much, etc. The same is true for the spiritual and mental aspects of our hearts. We have to pay attention to things that are fighting for the attention of our hearts. The way to do that is to guard the receptors of the heart…Yep, the eyes, the smell, the touch, the taste…These receptors are also the deceptors of the heart. Yes, the very receptors which open us to a wide, vast spectrum of choices can also deceive us. They will lead us to believe stuff like, “man, she a beast…” Until, you discover she has an endorsement from Duncan Hines(cake frosting) by MAC. Or “he said we’re going to be together as soon as he leaves his girl.” _________________________________ (Insert the scenario you thought of) Because I know you thought of at least one thing you have opened your heart to that could have been avoided.

I have been been on the deceptive side of harming a heart. Likewise, I’ve been the recipient of touching something that later affected my heart. Our hearts are equally open to deception and love. One will benefit us in the long run.

Friends, above all protect your hearts…

About me and Where's My Tazo Tea?

Allow me to be your modern day inspiration. Can I introduce you to an old way of thinking to accomplish the extraordinary inside of you? Yes? No? Maybe?

About me
I am a Social Entrepreneur, television/radio producer, copy writer and freelance Marketer. I rarely share all of who I am on any (social) platform. This is a small attempt at sharing what I've acquired. For some strange reason, I have made myself believe that I have an image to protect; it may be because one day I will live in the public's eye. I tend to hold back a little. Yet, I am very expressive after the second time we meet. Here you will find a collection of thoughts that share the man I am and inspiration of I'm growing into.

I love culture and how it expresses itself through art, advertising, writing, etc. Here you will find some original thoughts and some recycled ones.

I am working toward living in the purpose God intends for me to carry. I know some of what that is. He reveals a tiny piece when He chooses; God somehow always gets me where he wants me to be. I live on purpose, I make mistakes on accident. I am imperfect. I am a man.

Where's My Tazo Tea? was established as my alter ego Super Producer Personality while working with MetaThinQ, summer 2010. I would yell across the cubicles as a cry for attention and a cheap laugh. It then spun into what you see today.
